Tell us about your career journey and how you became a No7 Business Manager?
I was lucky enough to find myself a job within an industry that I truly love. I have been a makeup artist since 2018. I started working on the No7 counter in Tamworth and would also look after the live chat. This way I was able to serve the customers in the store and chat with the ones online that had queries and were unable to get into the store. I can honestly say it is the best job I have had. I love the company, the community and the products. No7 puts a lot of work into its training and truly take care of its colleagues which means I have learnt so much about skincare, and how each product is tailored to each customer. When our No7 Business Manager at the time moved into another company, I applied for the role, knowing this was the company and industry for me all within the space of a year.
What does a typical day as a No7 Business Manager look like?
A typical day for me starts with is, firstly setting my team up for success, letting them know the targets and expectations for the day, as well as reviewing the previous day, and making sure we all know what our KPIs are. I then like to floor walk around the store, making sure we are fully stocked, and all visual merchandise is correctly positioned, as well as greeting my fellow wider store colleagues. I will work with my team throughout the day, serving our customers, providing expert advice, as well as continuously tracking our progress towards our targets., I will coach my team where needed, and make sure we are going out around the store to find those customers that who might made need our help too.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I love the people. I’m lucky enough to work with a fantastic team of Advisors, that are always pushing themselves, and working extremely hard, as well as my wider store teams, who are always happy to help. I most of all love the No7 brand. They look after their colleagues, and it really feels like one big family. I think No7 has such an array of products that it really is for anyone, so I enjoy spending my day helping our customers with their skin and makeup goals. It doesn’t feel like work to me, and that’s what I love the most about this role.
What support were you given to become a No7 Business manager?
I was supported by my Regional Business Manager (RBM) and Store Manager and before joining this role I spoke to my previous No7 Business Manager who told me what to expect in this role. The training you receive is brilliant, and I have regular meetings, with RBMs and fellow Business Managers which really helps me to brainstorm ideas, and see how other stores things do, which helps me to bring those ideas back to my store.
How do you see your career developing over the next few years - what’s next for you?
I hope to stay with No7, as I love the brand, I aspire to see my No7 counter in Tamworth continue to grow and smash their targets . I would love to eventually progress my career through Boots and No7, keep building relationships, and meet others within the brand. I think I have found my calling, and it’s definitely No7.
What advice would you give to someone starting their career in No7?
Absolutely go for it! The opportunity to work for the UK’s No1 skincare brand, how can you not? Applying for this role, was one of the best things I did. It’s opened so many doors for me, built my confidence, helped me develop a better skincare routine! But it really feels like every day is a joy, and I love coming into work. Trust in yourself, and if you have any interest in the beauty industry then this is for you! You will see so many exciting new things, you’ll know what is coming next in the industry before anyone else and you’ll make some of the great connections. How exciting!
Lastly, what is your favourite No7 product?
Definitely the Future Renew Defence Shield SPF 50! It’s a moisturiser and SPF all in one. I love this product; it sits beautifully on my skin, its light and fragrance free, sits seamlessly under my makeup, helps with my fine lines too! Plus, it has a high protection of factor 50 in it. What’s not to love?!
